I'm Jason! At Red Cub Desert Home Check, I help homeowners in Palm Springs and the nearby Desert Cities achieve peace of mind when they're away from their property. Red Cub is committed to ensuring your home is secure, maintained, and cared for, so you can rest easy knowing everything is taken care of. With twenty+ years of experience in luxury retail (veteran of St. John, Tesla, Apple, and Starbucks-Corporate), I understand client service. I visit your home and then make sure your favorite contractors are summoned if your home requires plumbing, electrical, climate control, swimming pool & spa, and related services, so you don't have to. When you are away, I am your go-to expert for your home check needs.

When Red Cub Desert Home Check visits your home I focus on over 25 points of inspection to be sure that your property is not at risk by existing or future problems. Any issue found is handled immediately and the homeowner is notified right away. The most obvious benefit for having a home watcher is for
prevention or resolution of situations in the home. Taking care of problems early on will save you the hassle of dealing with costly repairs later. With every visit to your home Red Cub writes a detailed activity inspection log that we email to you. Keeping up a seasonal home can be a lot of work - but it doesn’t have to be.
WHAT CAN RED CUB DO?

Thoroughly inspect the interior and exterior for any issues

Check security system

Look closely for insects and pests

Observe for signs of any water damage or leaks

Check chimneys

Inspect all interior/exterior taps, faucets, sinks, toilets, etc.

Ensure your HVAC is maintaining seasonally appropriate house temps in your absence: summer no more than 85°F, winter no less than 55°F.

Inspect drains

Bring mail and packages inside

Ensure functioning of all timer-activated lights, sensors, etc.

Replace batteries or bulbs

Check appliances that use water (toilets, washers, dishwashers etc.)

Check that your pool and landscape vendors are keeping up with tasks.

Check for damage after windstorms. Did lawn chairs blow into the pool?

HOW MUCH DO RED CUB'S SERVICES COST?
Red Cub strives to be low-cost and high-performance!

First, there's a FREE initial in-home consultation. After that I will send you a proposed check list and a written agreement.

If you hire Red Cub, our visits will be $75 per one-hour average visits.

You can set up home check visits on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Additional customized home check services beyond the pre-agreed check list could incur additional expense, but only subject to your approval. A distance mileage surcharge for homes furthest from downtown Palm Springs may also apply, but only if agreed in advance.

Red Cub Home Watch's primary service package: I focus on over 25 points of inspection ("your check list") and can customize the list to suit your specific additional needs.

Every visit is followed up with an email report of findings and any recommended actions, so you can keep on top of your home while away from the desert.

VEHICLE WATCH SERVICE
Vehicles that sit for prolonged periods of time without driving may develop issues. To help ensure your car is ready for your return, I offer Car Watch visits that include:

a general exterior & interior inspection,
-
drive the vehicle 10-15 miles,
-
check tire pressure and battery charge, arrange for pro oil change and fluids check at your vendor if you wish,

wash the car (either automated wash or full-service hand wash at your pre-approved vendors),
-
e-mail you your report.
